MISCANTHUS, GIANT

CAD $9.95

Typical Availability: June - Fall
Description: A customer first shared this variety with as, calling it hardy bamboo. They told of a neighbour who had a nice row of this tropical looking grass, and needed to dig it up for a garden renovation (thus the sharing). Long story short - this variety is definitely hardy in southern Manitoba, and looks very exotic!

In fact Miscanthus is not bamboo, but no matter. On a recent trip to Victoria we saw this variety put to great use in the zen area at Glendale Gardens, where they harvest the stalks to make bamboo-style fencing.

Will typically die back the ground in our climate, but regrows to 6-8 feet over the summer.

Highly recommended!
