Description: Native to Manitoba. Called the 'backbone of the prairie'. Turns burgundy after frost. Deer resistant.

Latin Name: Andropogon gerardii
Main Uses: Ornamental, Landscape

Flower Color: White (insignificant)
Flowering Time: Late summer

Germination Instructions: Germination: 14 - 21 days at 21° C.
Sowing: Outdoors, in the fall or in the spring after the last frost. Indoors, 6-8 weeks before last frost. Fertilize from first watering with a kelp product such as Sea Magic™.
Planting Depth: Barely below the surface.
Planting Out: Plant in moist to slightly dry well-drained soil once seedlings are established and risk of frost has passed.
